Capel XC Training Day

Join us for a fun encouraging training day where you can get out with your horse and have a go. Open to all ages. All Levels. Riders must have EWA, Pony Club insurance OR day membership is available.

 

Course open to walk from 8:30am

Approximate times

9:30am start for 45 cm

All riders:

  • Must walk the course before riding
  • riders/ horses will depart the starting gates at approx 3-minute intervals
  • always follow the number order of jumps
  • the red flag is always on your right
  • only jump flagged jumps
  • be considerate of other riders and volunteers
  • follow the instructions of marshals
  • ride safely at all times and pass only when it is safe to do so
  • all riders must wear and approved safety vest/ body protector and helmet.
  • all riders must wear a medical arm band with current emergency contact details.
  • fall of rider- please report immediately to the first aid officer.

 

Draw:

There will be a draw, but we will be flexible with order. Please be considerate of all riders.

 

FAQ's

How much is it? Entry of $65 includes 2 rounds per horse.

Day membership: $30

How many jumps are there? the course will have 14- 16 jumps flagged for the day. The water jump will also be open.

How many times can I try a jump? The day is running like you would at an event. You can only attempt a jump 3 times, before you will be asked to move on. You can’t repeat a jump once you are over it. Please act safely at all times. Be kind to each other and your horse. Be patient.

Can I trot or walk? Yes. Please indicate when you come to the starting point if you plan to walk. Please move aside if there are riders faster than you.

Can I bring 2 horses? Yes 1 round per horse, or you can pay 2 entry fees and do a total of 4 rounds.

Are there yards available? yes there are yards available. please clean up hay and manure before you leave the grounds.

Can I ride with my friend? Yes, you can go through the course together as long as it is safe to do so.

Do I have to do 2 rounds? No. You can do one but not entry fee is still the same.

Can I do 2 different heights? Yes, you can do 45 and 65.

Can I do other heights? At this stage No, the course has not been inspected. All other jumps (except those flagged) are closed for the training day.

Do I have to do a helper job? Yes please. Everyone will be asked to do something on or before the day or pack up. If you have special requirements, please contact us before entering. Most helper duties will be marshalling on course for half an hour, helping set up or pack up flags and numbers.

What is ARC fundraising for? Fundraising is to assist with ongoing costs of running the club.

Is there a canteen? No not this time.

Is camping available the night before? Please contact organisers if you wish to camp.
