Dressage

LiveScore dressage decentralises the scoring process by getting the scribes to enter the scores and judges comments in to our app in real time.

This means that you no longer have to go through the process of collecting dressage sheets, taking them back to a central office and having a scorer (or multiple scorers) stuck in an office doing data entry all day.

Movement marks and judges comments are entered directly using tablets, thereby completely removing paper from the system.

Individual movement marks can't be missed as the app won't let a test be finalised unless all scores are entered and the judge signs the test.

Comments can be entered via an integrated stylus, or via a Bluetooth keyboard.

Removing paper cuts down on your printing costs and avoids problems of paper score sheets going missing in between the judges box and the scorers office. Having scribes do the data entry that was previously the role of the scorer, either reduces your costs if you are paying your scorer, or reduces your volunteer overhead so that you don't burn out valuable volunteer resources.

The virtual scoreboard function brings the big screens seen at championships to your spectators phones. Instead of having to wait for hours after a class has finished, your spectators can see trending percentages on a movement by movement basis. You can also switch on “announcer mode” which allows your announcer to see the actual scores given on a movement by movement basis.

Judges love the app as it shows them the percentage score they gave a competitor instantaneously instead of them having to do an estimate in their head by looking at individual scores.

Judges love the app as it shows them the percentage score they gave a competitor instantaneously instead of them having to do an estimate in their head by looking at individual scores.

Judges get to review the test and make changes to comments or scores before signing off on the test.

The app has options to record “Other penalties” such as carrying a whip when the class does not allow it, and judges can alert the head judge that they have seen blood or lameness.

If your venue does not have good internet coverage, you can still use the paperless dressage app. The system records all movement scores and comments on the tablets themselves first and then tries to upload to the cloud. If an internet connection is dropped, the app keeps on trying until it finds a connection and then sends the data through. Because of this, nothing can ever get lost in terms of scores or comments.

Once a test is signed by the judge, it cannot be altered – thereby ensuring the integrity of the data.

Data usage is tiny. A full day of dressage (30 riders) will only transfers 3mb of data, which is the equivalent of uploading a photo to FaceBook.

The app works via a tablet or phone. It works on both Apple and Android devices and the judges comments can be entered with either a stylus or a keyboard. The app replaces a traditional paper test sheet. The Livescore Dressage app works in partnership with Scoreboard – a live scoring system that calculates scores and placings, and displays results in real time online.

The app sends movement marks to the server on a movement by movement basis, which then pushes a trending percentage and potential final placing out spectators.

Each scribe receives a login, which only gives access to the classes and tests their Judge is scoring . Each movement is scored the same as a paper test. Once completed tests are signed the scoreboard server calculates the riders provisional placing and score and the digital test can be either sent to riders immediately, or held in the system and sent out at the end of the class..

If you use Nominate to manage your event entries, you get the Livescore Dressage system for free. If you are using your own management system, the fee is $3 per test.

*Please note you must use your own tablet or mobile device.

Once a Judge has completed, signed and submitted a test, the test is then uploaded to the Scoreboard server, which then pushes the scores out to riders and spectators via the Scoreboard app. It also makes the riders provisional score and current placing available online.

If the venue doesn't have a reliable internet connection, the Livescore app stores the movement marks on the local device (tablet or phone) and then sends them to the Scoreboard server as soon as an internet connection becomes available.

Scoreboard is Nominate's online scoring system, catering for all disciplines, including Dressage, Eventing, Show Horse, Show Jumping and interschool, plus many more.

Scoreboard interacts with the Nominate entries system, allowing entries to flow through directly into the Scoreboard system. Entries can also be imported into Scoreboard via MS Excel if you are using your own entry system. It also posts results live to the Scoreboard website, as soon as the scores are updated.

This reduces the need for riders to come to an office to check results, giving them the ability to check anywhere and anytime!

The Scoreboard scoring system can be used independently of the Livescore dressage app as a traditional scoring platform, with the added advantage that multiple scorers can be entering results at the same time and even the same class, reducing the workload on just one scorer and allowing results to be put in quickly and easily.

Scoreboard also interacts with the Scoreboard app, allowing riders and spectators view current events, view classes, tests, sponsors, draws and results.

Get your jump judges to use their phones to score Cross Country instead of paper!

Cross Country

Our Cross Country scoring app decentralises the scoring process by getting jump judges to input jump scores directly into their phones.

This means that you no longer have to collect jump sheets and have a scorer enter the data. Jump by jump results are available instantly.

Each jump judge is assigned the jumps they will be in charge of. This could be one jump or several jumps. The app can cater for a single jump judge scoring multiple jumps from the same screen.

The app also allows jump judges to record a video of each rider at their jump if needed. Videos can be retrieved remotely and viewed by the Cross Country Controller or the Technical Delegate in real time and assess what action might be needed or make a ruling as to whether a horse was inside the flags or outside.

Jump judges simply enter the rider number then score the jump. Once the jump is scored, the score is instantly available to officials and spectators. If a horse is held at a jump, the app records the time held via an inbuilt stop watch.

Start and finish times are also entered via the app. Officials and spectators can see a competitor’s time on course in real time and when the finish time is entered, the system immediately calculates and displays any time penalties. This removes the need for start and finish papers to be collected and entered by a scorer, thereby speeding up the scoring process and allowing for results to be available for officials, competitors and spectators in real time.

Cross Country

Cross Country

Spectators can view the competitors on course in real time, including the horse’s progress and status for each jump. Once the competitor has finished the course, spectators will be able to view the time taken. It will no longer take hours for spectators to view results, as they can watch each competitor going round the cross country course in real time, no matter where they are viewing from.

Central Control

Central control has a separate login within the app, which allows them to view all horses on course. They can see jump by jump, where each horse is on course. They can also easily see how many refusals a horse currently has, so they can be up-to-date and ensure a horse is stopped when needed. From the app, they can also view videos taken by the jump judge at each jump.

Our jumping scoring app decentralises the scoring process by having scoring input directly in the jumping ring. This can be done via a tablet or smart phone and is available on both Apple and Android.

This means that you no longer have to collect jumping score sheets and have a scorer enter the data in a back office, or use a bulky laptop.

The app can be used for jumping competitions on its own, or for the jumping phase in Eventing.

As with a paper score sheet, the jumping judge or scribe scores each jump. Multiple rounds can be added, with scoring for each competitor for each jump/round separated.
Time on course can be entered using the inbuilt stopwatch, entered manually, or if you use Farmtek timing equipment, the app can get the time using a RS232 bluetooth bridge.

When it comes to jump-offs, the app can list the riders that have made the jump-off as well as the order of go.

Jumping

The settings for each class determine the options available in the app, so time allowed and jumps can be changed as heights and times change. Multi round classes/jump-offs can be setup using the existing jumps and with a different time allowed than the first round.

Entering scores is extremely easy. You just select the rider as they come in to the ring, then enter the jump scores as determined by the judge.

Time allowed for the course can be adjusted on the fly if the judge decides to alter the time after the first few horses go through. This will automatically adjust the scores of any rider that has already gone round.

Jumping

Spectators can view the results for each competitor as soon as they cross the finish line, which enhances your spectator engagement. They no longer have to wait for a class to finish to see individual competitor scores.

Enable your show to go completely paperless by using our paperless dressage and paperless jumping apps.

  • Give your competitors and spectators access to real time results.
  • Cut down on your show administration by removing the need for back office scorers. All while saving the environment by using less paper.
  • Removing paper means reduced points of contact for officials, volunteers and competitors - improving hygiene and safety for all involved.
