By order of Airport Management dogs MUST NOT be brought to this event.  Failing to comply with this order will result in you being asked to find alternate accommodation for your dog for the weekend or you being asked to leave and your entry being forfeited.

Entry Requirements:

  • All riders must pay the class entry, South Australian Eventing Levy and facility fee.
  • It is the responsibility of ALL riders to ensure that they have correct registration of horse and rider at EA level as applicable. 
  • Riders are responsible for checking their eligibility for the classes entered. If riders are NOT qualified to ride in the class entered, they will not be permitted to ride.  If a rider requests or is required to upgrade or downgrade for whatever reason they may be required to join the waitlist for their preferred eligible class.
  • All classes will be conducted under the effective Equestrian Australia National Eventing Rules and Regulations (effective as of 1 January 2026)
  • Riders entering Class 7 and Class 9 are to purchase a SAEEM Club membership at the time of entry.  This membership includes public liability insurance only and all riders competing under this membership option are encouraged to consider their own personal insurance requirements.  Results from these classes will not be considered towards and Eventing SA awards.

 

Entry Details:

  • Two rides per class allowed, three will be considered at the discretion of the organising committee.
  • Changes to entries prior to the close of entries can be done through Nominate.
  • Late entries will incur a late fee of $50.00 and are accepted at the committee’s discretion.
  • Class fees DO NOT include the Eventing SA Levy per horse payable at time of entry.
  • A facility fee of $20.00 will be charged per rider.  This fee assists with the cost of amenity hire.

  • Ice is available for $6.00 per bag and must be ordered at the time of entry.  Available for collection from the Secretary’s office Sunday morning.  Extra ice bags will not be available for purchase at the event.  Riders must PREORDER.

 

Refund Policy:

  • Entries will only be refunded prior to the close of entries. 
  • As per the Equestrian Australia refund policy, there will be no refund of entries for withdrawals after the originally published close of entry date, unless there are people on a waiting list.   In this case a $15.00 administration fee with be withheld from the refund.   • Riders are entitled to a refund of the facility fee and any yard fees paid if withdrawing after the entry date.

Event Cancellation Policy:

  • The EA National Refund policy shall be applied.

 

Interstate Challenge:

  • Entries to be made before 12 noon Saturday 8th August 2026 to the Event Secretary.
  • Cost is $40.00 per team.
  • Teams of 4 combinations residing in the SAME state.
  • A prize pack for each member of the winning team.

 

True North Rider’s Party:

  • To be held at the horse trials venue.
  • Food vans will be available for meal purchases
  • Tickets to the party include a commemorative horse trials cup and your first drink from Sink Hole Gin.  Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be available.
  • Purchase tickets with your entry.  Limited to 150.

 

Withdrawals:

  • Withdrawals up to 12.00pm on 31st July 2026 via Nominate
  • Withdrawals after the close of entries but prior to the event are to be sent via EMAIL to the event secretary at [email protected]
  • Horse substitution: Allowed at the organising committees discretion.

 

Prize Schedule:

  • A minimum of one prize shall be awarded for every four competitors entered in each class.
  • Rugs will be awarded to the first placed combination in classes 1 to 6 and class 8. 
  • Rugs will be awarded in classes 7 and 9 if the number of entries in each class exceeds 15 combinations.  Should entries not exceed this number prizes will be awarded.
  • Product and rosettes will we awarded to all combinations placing 1st to 6th (depending on entry numbers).
  • Cash prizes will be awarded subject to sponsorship.
  • Thorough Care SA best performed OTT in each height will be awarded a cash prize.

 

Volunteer Policy:

  • ALL COMPETITORS are required to volunteer their time or nominate a volunteer on their behalf for a minimum of ONE HOUR to assist in the running of the event. 
  • Upon publication of rider’s times a link to Volunteer SIGN UP shall be emailed to all entrants.  Riders can elect a task and time that fits into their or their nominee’s timetable over the course of the competition.
  • It is a condition of entry to this event that ALL entrants accept and agree to be bound by the VOLUNTEER Policy outlined above.

 

Dressage Arena:

All arenas are 60 x 20m grass arenas

 

Show Jumping Arena:

The show jump arena is a grassed surface.

Cross Country Course:

The Mount Gambier & Districts Pony Club is located an easy 4.5-hour drive from both Adelaide and Melbourne.  The gently undulating sandy loan going provides a brilliant competition experience for both horse and rider regardless of the weather.  In 2026 our water complex will be redeveloped in addition to some new jumps across all grades.  Interactive cross-country maps will be available to view on the Cross-Country App after the course has been declared open.

Walking the course is only allowed after being declared open on Saturday 9th August 2026, the course is not to be walked outside of daylight hours.

Accommodation:

  • Yards are available for $35.00 per horse and must be booked at time of entry.  You are only able to book yards for the number of horses you are entering.
  • Yard allocation will be done in order of entries by the organising committee, please make any requests when entering.
  • Portable yards are not permitted on the pony club grounds, however can be built on the adjacent airport facility. Horses must not be left unattended overnight.  A $20.00 camping fee applies, payable per rider not per horse. 
  • Personal fire pits are NOT permitted on either the airport precinct or the pony club grounds.

 

Catering:

  • The canteen will be open with a range of foods from 7.30am both days. 
  • Sink Hole Gin will be at the venue during the star class show jumping Saturday afternoon.
  • The True North Rider’s Party starts at 6.00pm Saturday night.  Tickets are available with entries at Nominate.

 

Gear Check:

Riders will be observed in all phases.

 

Presentations:

Presentations will be held at the completion of classes on Sunday. A timetable for presentations will be provided with the event programme.  All placegetters to wear formal competition attire, with winning horses in attendance. Prizes and prize money to be distributed as per EA rules, subject to change depending on circumstances.  Prize money will be paid by electronic funds transfer (EFT) please ensure you have provided bank details when entering.

 

Electric Scooters and E-Bikes:

  • Electric Scooters are NOT to be ridden within the equestrian precinct for the duration of the event.
  • Any bicycle (electric or otherwise) MAY only be ridden on the cross-country course at the conclusion of the dressage phase.
  • Helmets MUST be worn when riding any bike be it electric or otherwise within the airport precinct and pony club grounds.

 

General conditions:

  • Back Numbers are compulsory, please visit Nominate to print your number.
  • Vet check: all horses will be checked by the veterinary team at the completion of cross country.
  • EA membership is necessary for classes 1 to 6 and 8, SAEEM Club membership is necessary for classes 7 and 9.

 

Competition:

  • Saturday: Dressage: All Classes. Show Jumping: CCN1*, CCN2*, CCN3* & CCN3.5*
  • Sunday: Cross Country: All Classes. Show Jumping:  EvA65, EvA80 and EvA95.

 

Scoring and Maps:

  • Maps will be available on the Cross-Country app when the course is opened.
  • Master maps will be displayed at the secretary’s office.
  • Official results, signed by the Technical Delegate will be posted at the clubhouse during the events.
  • Live scoring will be available on Nominate and will only be considered provisional until approved by the Technical Delegate.

Neither the organising committee, Equestrian SA, SAEEM, nor the owners of the property accept liability for any accidents, damage to, injury or illness for horses, grooms, riders, spectators or any persons or property whatsoever.

 

Reservation of right:

The organising committee reserves the right to cancel/alter/divide any advertised classes, vary the prize money, change the advertised times or refuse entries without explanation.
