Ardmore Pony Club welcomes new members. Our season starts late August and runs through to April. Rallies are held on Saturday afternoons. Some of the benefits of being a member include:
- learning safe and effective ways to ride and look after a horse
- the companionship of like-minded people, both parents and riders
- being able to participate in a sport that teaches teamwork, responsibility, discipline and having fun
- the fact that it’s a sport the whole family can enjoy
You can become a member:
- If you have your own pony, grazing and transport and by making an enquiry to the President
- By speaking to the Sonshine Ranch office who may, after about 12 months of Sonshine Ranch lessons, consider you for the hire a pony programme, so that you have a ranch horse to ride at Saturday rallies
Parents:
Pony club is a family commitment. Each rider must have a non-riding parent member, for which the club pays a levy to the Franklin District and NZPC Association. Parents need to ask themselves whether they can fulfill the club’s requirements of parents. We need you -
- to open email regularly
- to read the minutes
- to remind their rider about reading and replying to e-mail
- to remind their rider to inform the rally co-ordinator about rally absences
- to be rostered on to help at ordinary rallies
- to provide adult helpers at events in which their rider participates
- to attend two working bees
- to attend a minimum of two committee meetings per season
- to attend the AGM
