Welcome to the Hakaru Branch of Wellsford District Pony Club (Inc)

This branch was started in 1974, with a small group of dedicated parents who either had a love of horses themselves, or recognized their children loved to ride, and decided the best thing to happen was to have them all together, in a group, and show them how much fun they can have.  We have been on the same grounds since then, and have made enormous improvements.  Our membership continues to grow and our riders are seen as some of the very best in our Area.  We organise rallies, competitions, guest coaches and our camps are popular.  Our all weather arena has attracted a lot of new riders, especially adult riders which has ensured our branch has grown rapidly, but the main focus is on our young riders who we want to make safe on their horses and teach them how to look after their horses.

Hakaru Pony Club is situated at the Hakaru Domain, 732 Settlement Road, Hakaru.

Rallies are held from 5.30pm – 7.00pm on Wednesdays and some weekends. Contact Zara Colgan, Head Coach ph 027 465 0650 for further information.

The grounds are closed to all other riders at these times. The pony club season usually commences September/October and ends April/May.
